Water patches on laptop screen.

Post by kevin04 »

It's almost done for anyway, and the plan was to get a new one next spring/summer - so if it has to go, it will, but any ideas on how I can save a few more months out of it?

I stupidly spilt water (not just this, the bedsheets too) if you can imagine a shaky hand throwing a pint of water over your face (the screen) that's pretty much what happened.

Anyone done this, and any good possibly free cures for it? I've tried placing it in front of a heater for a few years, but not much difference.

Mucho thanks in advance,

If you want to avoid getting things wet then move away from Scotland.

How long ago did youe do it.

I put my electronic car keys through the wash then put them in a bag of rice for a week - it did the trick.

Id try leaving it in the airing cupboard for a few days, Kev

Worked a treat with my mobile a few years ago - completely dried it out.
If Arsenal were playing in my back garden, I would draw the curtains.

Apologies, forgot all about this.

Haha.

I tried the airing cupboard, and leaving it tilted, and it seems to be pretty much fixed albeit with a few marks. Plan on getting a new one as it's getting knackered and old, the fan belt seems to be fúcked as well and making a hell of a racket at times (that was before the spillage).

Much obliged though.

Welcome back Sadster. Computer screen is fine, although I'm away to stink up the Windows 10 thread with a question on operating system languages. :)
