Around the same time extinct file-sharing site The Pirate Bay.

Re: The Pirate Bay
Previously I was only ever a content Usenet downloader, after the closing of newzbin.com and seeing your reccomendation I changed back to torrents, they have improved an awful lot and this site is cool, still though Usenet I used, now for example to grab something.

Re: The Pirate Bay
Wasn't newsbin just a method of making usenet downloading easier?
Usenet hasn't been closed down and all the content is still there.

Newzbin allowed you to download .NZB files. At the time it was an absolute boon because it removed the need to spend hours trawling through Usenet looking for content.LaaLaa wrote:Wasn't newsbin just a method of making usenet downloading easier?

The .NZB file was about 3kb in size. Download from Newzbin and open in Newsleecher or other such software and away it went.
Great stuff.

Sounds good, but I might need a memory upgrade if it's anything over 3K.shabbado wrote:Newzbin allowed you to download .NZB files. Re: The Pirate Bay
I have favourite newsgroups, download the headers and scroll through them sighing and being disappointed that there's nothing I want to download.andyrich666 wrote:Yes I now use NZBIndex but it is nowhere near as good, if you have reccomendation for a better please say, TIALaaLaa wrote:Wasn't newsbin just a method of making usenet downloading easier?

But this is useful for finding content on newsgroups you don't normally subscribe to. https://www.binsearch.info/
It also has .nzb although I still get stuff the old-fashoned way as my newsreader is so ancient.

Thanks for that, something I am looking for came up on Binsearch, did not on NZBindex.LaaLaa wrote:I have favourite newsgroups, download the headers and scroll through them sighing and being disappointed that there's nothing I want to download.andyrich666 wrote:Yes I now use NZBIndex but it is nowhere near as good, if you have reccomendation for a better please say, TIALaaLaa wrote:Wasn't newsbin just a method of making usenet downloading easier?

Don't you guys use TVaddons formerly XBMC/Mashup/NavX etc for downloading films, streaming sport etc... TPB had a presence and I used to borrow plenty of content.

Re: The Pirate Bay
too much hassle, not really a streamer, for tv series or film, I have to watch them all in one go, Homeland for instance I only saw a bit when the ad break was on the Man City game last week or before, never heard of it, since Saturday I have watched 3 series in full, + up to tonight 04e08 so that is about 44 episodes, antdad wrote:Don't you guys use TVaddons formerly XBMC/Mashup/NavX etc for downloading films, streaming sport etc... I do have XBMC installed on my main PC but not really played with it, internet is shit here, went from 80mb in UK to 6-8mb here

Re: The Pirate Bay
XBMC is sweet. Unfortunately Mashup is no more on there and Sports-devil bottled it as well but still loads of stuff via Fusion add-ons. Awesome for music as well. MP3. Pretty much every album you can think of from most artists and bands to stream.antdad wrote:Don't you guys use TVaddons formerly XBMC/Mashup/NavX etc for downloading films, streaming sport etc... Just Google XBMC or go to Youtube anyone on here who hasn't got it....just do it already.
