He's fucking 1/12 to beat Sun Qiang in the Prelims, Best of 3 sets. Could be worth looking at an exact score bet, if you can find odds on Cadb-o winning 2-0. It's bound to happen.
1/12 to win the tie means you're never going to get odds against for a 2-0...might appeal to some though :)

Nice one sammy, 3/10... Sun Qiang played in the Prelims last year. He was atrocious.

(74.19) Mick McGowan 2-0 Sun Qiang (64.73)

I have grave doubts that this was merely an off-night. A lob-and-hope charismatic novelty type and no chance is he taking a whole set off Cadby. I'm sure there are some who will pile into that 3/10.

Last one for now, more grim odds but if you think it'll happen y'know...

5/6 - Gary Anderson to win the 3rd quarter. It's a soft quarter. Only Chizzy and Klaasen can realistically stop him. If you remember Ando going through Klaasen 6-0 in the semis with a 9-darter last time, you'll get an idea. Forget everything you've seen all year - he is a world championship specialist.

Backing him to reach the semis is like-buying-money. I think 7/4 to reach the final isn't far off. On course to play Wright in the semis... not a chance in hell he'd let Wright finish his reign at Ally Pally over 11 sets. I'll be surprised - very - if Anderson doesn't get to the final. He doesn't need to beat MvG, Taylor, Barney or Lewis to do it.

Going by your previous post re Taylor/ Anderson final, better value in backing Anderson to be runner up in the final @10/3

http://www.oddschecker.com/darts/pdc-wo ... r-up/today

In fact if you fancy that duo to make the final then a couple of straight forecasts on the pair looks the way to go particularly as in the 'name the finalists' market the pair are only around 14/1

S/F Taylor/Anderson @25/1
S/F Anderson/Taylor @25/1

Stacks of articles and coverage all over the place. A particularly interesting looking article in the New York Times here, just plucking some bits from it, me:

He’s the Michael Jordan of Darts. He Just Has to Prove It

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/13/sport ... .html?_r=1
Like Messi, van Gerwen plays his game in fast-forward, keeping an urgent rhythm to his movements, no matter the situation. At all times, opponents feel his presence, as if he were a sport utility vehicle tailgating on a narrow road.

At the same time, van Gerwen’s play appears carefree. He is a master of modulating his emotions, of employing body language to his psychological advantage, of reading a moment. He barely flinches when things go poorly. But when he wins, he is prone to mighty explosions of joy.

Interpersonal dynamics in darts matter as much as the action on the board, and to opponents, this can be disconcerting.

“Even the best players, they stop: ‘Where does the next dart go?’” said Patrick Chaplin, a darts historian from Maldon, England. “With van Gerwen, if he throws a dart in the wrong place, which is rare, there’s no hesitation. He goes up there: bang, bang, bang.”
Work, fame and wealth have changed van Gerwen’s life in recent years. He and his wife, Daphne, are building a home in the Netherlands, and they take expensive vacations. He said that he enjoyed support from fans, but he also expressed some annoyance about being bothered in restaurants. He said he wanted to retire around the age of 40.

“I don’t have time for my wife, for my family, for my friends,” he said. “When I’m a little bit older, I want to try to get that time back.”
Van Gerwen speaks of Taylor with respect, and for rivals born three decades apart, the two have a collegial relationship. Yet van Gerwen is blunt in his belief that he has already surpassed Taylor in terms of pure skill and performance.

He noted that Taylor started his own dominance in the 1990s, when the competition and overall professionalism of the game were far inferior to what exists today.
Van Gerwen not only understands that he is expected to win the 72-player tournament, which will conclude on Jan. 2 at the 2,500-capacity Alexandra Palace, he also understands that he needs to win it.

“Any other result for myself is a disaster,” he said.

The 2003 final still my favourite match of all-time. I don't see anything ever topping it, although the Taylor-Mardle QF in 2008 is also in-the-envelope.

Taylor being a cunt in the Express probably. Some reasonable points, but a cunt nevertheless. For all the money he did make, he missed the era of truly massive bucks. An era that he himself created, effectively.

This page will never load.

Unable to verify the person that said Coldplay will perform on stage before the Final. Matt Forde was already booked?

William Hill donating 9k to Dave Clark's Parkinsons appeal for every 9-darter hit... so a cool £0 heading their way.

What else... Taylor is a cunt. 9/1 though.

His quotes were lifted from a longer interview in The Guardian – nice of The Sexpress not to namecheck them…

The comments below the article are revealing – most people say he's an amazing player but an absolute cunt of a man.
They are also curious why Taylor's indecent-assault conviction wasn't raised by the journalist.

Maybe, specially if Mighty Mike's on the rampage. Every time he opened his gob in this last year he had a breakdown. The last 27 years of his actual whole life have been lived for this tournament every year and now time's nearly up. His departure will surely be excruciating and if he weren't a PDC shareholder he'd probably scorch the earth behind him as he windmills off to Brazil Tenerife to hide.
