Wow, breaking news - India are a great test team when playing at home. Just in case a record of winning 11 of their 12 home tests prior to England arriving there hadn't clued us up.

I can't work this team out.

Normally I'd say it's just the usual over-hyping, and they flatter to deceive.

But this squad looks to have real quality, and I'm still hoping that they will learn from experience and go on to become a truly great side.

First Hameed and now 'Buster' Keaton, England seem to have unearthed some potential gems this series.

If playing for your country was based on where you were born, Colin Cowdrey would have played for India and Ted Dexter for Italy.

Keaton Jennings has qualified by residency and has a British mother.

Additionally, on the residency qualification issue, I heard on 5Live this morning that the residential qualification period has now been extended to 7 years from 4, although Jennings got into the side on the basis of a 4 year residency qualification.

A few more years for those accents to erode?
