A Spirited Performance

Post by Rossco »

No not a review for the new BMW. But my take on the Norn Iron v Germany match. Lost 2-0. Both coming within the first 18 minutes. But dug in. And proud of the performance against a German side that will walk the group with ease.

And since both England and Scotland have threads I was starting one as well. At least our lot played a decent team.

Nice touch from the Germans for playing Freed from Desire at the end 8)

Seems to be the consensus online too. I was listening on the radio and going by that in the second half I didnt feel as nervy as I did in the first. Seems we settled well. Just a pity about the first 20 minutes.

Depends on how you look at it. It's easier to 'settle well' when you're 2-0 down after 17 mins and have no way back. How about settling well from the start of the game?

I think it was Keith Gillespie who said before the match that he could see no weak links at all with the Hermans. I like how Norn staff and fans conduct themselves with the dignity and conduct befitting an emerging side without the bitterness and jealousy of Scotland and the abject misery and navel gazing of England.
Please don't hoover up all the bollocks for yourself. Leave some for others.

Gillespie was stating the obvious about Germany. Agreed the North are a credit, top to bottom and long may it continue. Cheeky comments aside, no doubt they'll learn from the Euro's and from last night.
